DASTARDS gig gets moved to The Enterprise

December 11th, 2009

Last nights gig was moved at the last minute (we only heard during the drive down) - and was therefore a complete shambles. We had to stop and get the details of the new venue. So the band arrived late. All the people who were coming to see the band went to the original venue - and couldn’t get in because it was a private party.

So - the band had no time to sound check, were still stressed out from the journey (the road was closaed outside the venue so it meant an extra 20 minutes trying to find another route in London traffic), there were very few people there (even though the pub downstairs was full).

Anyway - the band gave it their best shot and then retreated outside to re-group.

Highlight of the evening? Hearing the new version of FLASHLIGHTS. It was only a rough mix but it sounds FANTASTIC!

Can you tell they are pissed off?

Let’s hope next weeks gigs are better. They are at THE JAILHOUSE in HEREFORD on WEDNESDAY 16th DEC (Hereford 6th Form College’s Christmas Party) and at THE JUNCTION in BRISTOL on 19th Dec 2009.

DASTARDS are back in London AND Bristol

Then on Saturday 19th December DASTARDS are headlining at THE JUNCTION in Bristol. Get down and dirty … but don’t Stumble & Fall.

Tom Robinson plays DASTARDS on 6 Radio

November 23rd, 2009

On Sunday November 22nd Tom Robinson played PYLON on his BBC 6 Radio show and also featured the track in his weekly podcast.

Tom has previously played STAYING OUT on his show.

So, Tom - a big THANK YOU to you. We will always appreciate those who help the band on the way up. You know who you are!

Aha! Got a new camera - So great DASTARDS photos SOON!

November 12th, 2009

After using my little Nikon coolpix camera at nearly every gig since the band formed (back in 2005) I’ve finally got round to buying a Nikon D5000 DSLR which is supposed to take better pics in low light - and HD video too. George Guitar has got a more or less the same camera and Daisy (George’s sister) gets some great shots with it - making mine look a bit naff ..

So - the next DASTARDS gig is in London at the Purple Turtle on 10th Dec - so let’s see what pictures we get then!

DASTARDS play BRISTOL and BIRMINGHAM

November 5th, 2009

DASTARDS are rolling up in Bristol this weekend (7th November) at The Cooler. Headlining this time is Kid Carpet. Join us there.

And on Sunday (8th November) DASTARDS are racing over to Birmingham to play alongside Two Door Cinema Club at the Hare & Hounds.

Should be two cracking gigs where the band isn’t headlining so you can compare DASTARDS to some ’signed’ bands!

See you there.

DASTARDS Tracks featuring on Music Websites

August 8th, 2009

This week www.TextaTrack.co.uk have made STAYING OUT their featured single of the week. Text a Track is a great, simple music download service which is chart registered. All tracks £1. Simple.

Plus LONELY INBETWEEN is at #10 on the www.TourDates.co.uk chart. It has also just been voted into the ‘Green Room’ at www.FameGames.com

S0 - whilst sometimes we think that the UK music press is ignoring us - some Music sites are LOVING US. (and we love them back!)Â

Fahrenheit Festival Cancelled

August 5th, 2009

We’ve just heard that the Fahrenheit Festival has been cancelled. We’re gutted - obviously. This is the message on the Fahrenheit site:

Dear all,

It is with regret that the Fahrenheit Festival 2009 due to take place this Friday 7th, 8th and 9th of August has been forced to reschedule.

We are all very sorry for any inconvience caused but due to last minute circumstances beyond our control we have had to take this action now as to avoid the participants of the festival any further disruption. Building on the many partnerships and collaborations that define Fahrenheit we will be back to you soon with details of a number of exciting events and opportunities for unsigned bands and artists.

Many Thanks.
The Fahrenheit Festival Team

Presumably it was poor ticket sales but it’s very sad as it was an interesting idea - to use independent bands who wouldn’t be soaking up huge costs in fees - leaving more money in the pot to promote the event.

Anyway - here are DASTARDS at their last festival (CHAGSTOCK ‘09) with FLASHLIGHTS
